ENGAGE WITH OUR PAST EVENTS

STORYTELLING TIME

In line with Indigenous traditions during the storytelling seasons, we had the honour to have Knowledge Keepers and Storytellers share teachings and knowledge about Indigenous culture, values, history, relationships, and ways of life.

Thank you Anishinaabe Traditional Grandmother & Ancestral Knowledge Keeper Kim Wheatley and Iehnhotonkwas Bonnie Jane Maracle for sharing your knowledge with the TIJIH community.

INDIGENOUS DATA SOVEREIGNTY PANEL

In September 2020, TIJIH held a speakers' panel on Indigenous data sovereignty. Our speakers, Dr. Jonathan Dewar, Robyn Rowe, Fatima Ahmed, and Kendra Tingmiak, joined us to bring their diverse experiences and perspectives.

During our event, we explored the significance of data sovereignty, the barriers and facilitators to achieving data sovereignty, the methods and tools used in relevant work, and how Indigenous research data may be collected or used.
