What do you want to share with our community of practice? 

We invite authors, artists, and other content creators from diverse backgrounds to share their perspectives and narratives on our blog. This blog aims to continue conversations about topics related to Indigenous health, as well as encouraging reflections about our personal experiences and professional works. By doing so, we hope to continue fostering spaces for dialogue about matters important to Turtle Island and abroad. 

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions should be no longer than 1000 words. 

  • Submissions must include the

    • (1) contributors' names as they would like them to appear publicly,

    • (2) contributors' affiliations,

    • (3) title of the submission, and if applicable,

    • (4) the call for blog submissions (see below) you are responding to and

    • (5) any acknowledgments.

  • Submissions can take various forms including text, photo, video, or audio. However, a written portion is desirable to accompany media submissions. Written pieces (stand-alone and media accompaniments) must be in an OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format. Photos must also be included in this document with any permissions to use the photo, if appropriate. 

  • Submissions must be emailed to tijih.dlsph@utoronto.ca

  • If you would like to make a submission on a topic that is not listed below, please contact us.

We are currently inviting submissions on the following topics:

  • Finding strength during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Any presentation during our Second Issue Celebration Series

  • Experience submitting to TIJIH
